Turtlegend And The Spirit Of Shapes Mac OS

Summer is here and the sun is shining… Whata perfect time to be active!

Why not go for a run with your co-workers and be active together? That’s what the team at B2Run thought: organize runs specifically designed for companies to compete against one another; encouraging motivation and building team spirit. More than 9,600 enterprises are estimated to have participated in team events that take place in a number of German cities as well as elsewhere in Europe and even South Africa. The motto of the event is: run together; reach goals together; celebrate together.

The only open-source CRM solution with a BPM engine vtenext is a complete system to manage the relationship with your customers and, at the same time, optimize all business processes. It can be adapted to all business needs and, thanks to its open source nature, it can communicate with every software in use. In the spirit of full disclosure, like more than 80 percent of the desktop and laptop world, I am primarily a Windows user. I am, however, an iPhone devotee, and as a software reviewer, I have lots of experience on Macs. I’m not a Mac or Apple hater by a long shot. Software Description: VSPlayer is a free media player designed for Mac OS. It provides an intuitive, easy to use interface to play digital media file, and supports a myriad of audio and video formats. In addition, it offers many advanced features, is extremely customizable, and is available in both Chinese and English.

One of the runs will be held in Stuttgart, the home of AnyDesk, where we’re all about team spirit and cooperation. B2Run is thus the perfect opportunity to prove it. What do AnyDesk employees planning to participate think of the event? Do they see a link between running and team spirit? I went for a spin around the office and asked them.

1. Why did you decide to participate in B2Run?

Ivana: “Iwanted to participate because of the team spirit and teamwork. It’s a goodopportunity to get know each other outside work.”

Meagan: “Mycolleague (An, who’s sitting right across from her) motivated me toparticipate.”

An: “It’s a good excuse to do something with your colleagues outside of work.” He looks at Meagan sitting across from him and says: “I wanted my team to run and I thus have to participate as well.” Both laugh.

2. What do you like about running?

Ivana: “Well,it’s good for your body and for getting in shape, but it’s also great for yourlungs and stamina. You release energy and detox your body.”

Meagan: “Ilike the feeling afterwards. You suffer while you run, but it’s a satisfyingfeeling when you reach your goal.”

An: “It balances out work, especially with something like financial accounting. Sitting at your desk the whole day can be mentally exhausting. When you run, you’re not forced to think. On the other hand, you get the best ideas when you focus on something other than thinking. It’s really inspiring. It’s also efficient because you can listen to a podcast or an audio book while running, which you can’t do while playing football, for example. You can also do it anytime, anywhere, just like AnyDesk,” he adds with a big laugh.

3. How much training did you do? Do you prepare in your spare time?

Ivana: “I ranmore when I was younger. Nowadays, it’s become more irregular. Whenever I feellike I have too much energy, I usually run to clear my mind.”

Meagan: “Iwouldn’t call it training. I’m just trying to get to 5k. I’m running in another5k only a few days later and I’m excited to be able to say that I can to it.”

An: “I don’t do it professionally, but it’s become a major hobby. I’ve been running marathons for about six years. I use any excuse to go running. It’s a cheap sport, very soothing, and you can do it by yourself or with a team. The motto is Mens sana in corpore sano: A healthy mind in a healthy body.”

4. How do you think B2Run contributes to team spirit?

Ivana:“Running together means sticking together. If I saw someone struggling, I’dslow down and ask them: ‘Hey, are you okay?’ We have to support and motivateeach other.”

Meagan: “Whenyou see someone who’s in trouble, if they fall for example, you wouldn’t justrun off. You have to make sure they’re okay. It’s also nice to have somethingto talk about back at the office; remembering funny moments together.”

An: “The nicething about running is that you can do it both competitively or in a team whereyou can support and help each other out to make sure everyone gets to thefinish line. I think crossing the finish line together also has positiveeffects on your professional life. If you can finish a race together, you canalso successfully finish a project together.”

And that’s the spirit that running creates and supports. At the end of the day we’re all running towards the same goal. Not just at B2Run, but at AnyDesk as well.

Windows Vista vs. Ubuntu vs. Mac OS X Tiger vs. design, box design that is. Are you familiar with the old expression 'you cannot judge an operating system by its packaging?' Well, this is just such a case. There is no compelling connection between the box and what you will end up with installed on your machine. Or is it? In the adjacent images you will be able to see the boxes for Ubuntu, mac OS X Tiger and Windows Vista. The bottom line is that, when it comes down to assessing the packaging, which one of the three will come up on top? I will say that taste is something specific to each and everyone of us. Therefore these are just my personal preferences, and I do not, by any means offer anything else.

When it comes down to the actual design of the box, Microsoft's Windows Vista is hands down the winner. The unique box however has as main practical purpose the company's need to differentiate genuine Windows Vista copies from pirated versions, sold as legitimate software. While the packaging is not impossible to counterfeit, Microsoft has come to the conclusion that bootleggers did not even try, and instead sold Vista as pirated. By comparison, the boxes for Ubuntu and Tiger are not spectacular. Not for their shape, but what about style?

Well, my favorite is Ubuntu. The CD cover design on the left is just one of the many variations that are centered on the same idea. What strikes me about Ubuntu is that it has the courage to associate human faces to a software product. Faces repeating different versions and interpretations of the Ubuntu logo. 'Ubuntu is an African word meaning 'Humanity to others', or 'I am what I am because of who we all are'. The Ubuntu distribution brings the spirit of Ubuntu to the software world,' is the company's official explanation for their distribution of the Linux operating system. I must also confess that Ubuntu is the first Linux operating system that I simply could not wait to get home to. I am a Windows man myself, and a Windows Vista hard-core user, but I simply fell in love with Ubuntu.

Right, obviously Windows Vista is next. I can still vividly remember the first time I wrote about the new boxes for Windows Vista. Following the RTM of the operating system, Microsoft also released the first images of what was going to be the packagings for Windows Vista. At the beginning of November 2006, the first picture of a Windows Vista Ultimate opened box was made available. It is obvious that Microsoft's user experience team has done a great job with the design of the overall style of Windows Vista. It is Aero from one end to the other, and the boxes are clear illustrations.

Last, hmmm... Mac OS X Tiger. Windows Vista's packagings suffer from impersonality; well, the Tiger box says nothing to me. I have never been a big fan of the minimalist style in art. Nuances and flavors are the key to my heart. The designers that have looked endlessly for the best CRT monitor, just to enjoy the largest gamut possible in Photoshop know what I am talking about. Tiger's box is too simple and primitive for my taste, and in this sense it is just the antonym of Ubuntu's design.
